Kombucha Demystified  - MEET MY KOMBUCHA COURSE!

Kombucha! Do you know it? Do you LOVE it? Do you BREW it!?


If you DON’T know about it, let me fill you in! This is one of our family’s favorite ways to get some extra probiotics and healthy ferments into our diets. Why? Because GUT HEALTH, my friends! Gut health matters! And kombucha is one simple, tasty step towards better gut health!

Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage that has been around (in various forms) for centuries. It’s tangy, zippy, sweet, and flavorful. It has effervescence and packs a punch, both in flavor and in health benefits.


Because it uses a culture (called a SCOBY - Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast) to ferment a sweet tea brew, it creates a symbiotic culture of GOOD bacteria, and ingesting it will add to the diverse microbiome - bacteria and such - of your body. 


The benefits of this good bacteria really include the potential for improved overall health!! Gut health is especially impacted, as I mentioned, which then can translate to better immune function, better mental health, better sleep, better stress regulation, better organ function, etc. Kombucha can also help our nutrient absorption, vitamin absorption and synthesis, protein breakdown, alkalization of our body pH (which in turn means better health - Google it!), and increased/better production of immunoglobulins (proteins that neutralize pathogens in our body). 


While you can find kombucha at most major grocery stores for purchase, I actually have loved brewing our own at home for our family! It’s more cost effective, and more customizable that way. And it’s so SO simple!
